About The Position

Emplify Health is hiring a Patient Access Specialist for its Estimates department. The specialist supports patients throughout the registration and financial clearance process by verifying demographic and insurance information, preparing cost estimates for upcoming services, and explaining patients’ financial responsibilities. The role works closely with clinical teams and insurance carriers to help ensure accurate information and a smooth patient experience. It suits someone with strong customer service skills and attention to detail who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position is 1.0 FTE, working 40 hours per week in 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or major holiday shifts. On-site training takes place in Onalaska, Wisconsin; the position is remote eligible after training is complete. Emplify Health describes itself as a not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network formed through a partnership between Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System. It serves communities across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.
Successful completion of defined core competency testing.
One year of experience in an office setting with customer service responsibilities.
Time management and organization skills.
