About The Position

Inova Health – Care Connection for Children is looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Requirements

• 1 year of healthcare patient access experience
• High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish-English
• Prior experience working with special needs children

Responsibilities

• Manages complex cases, resolves errors, confirms authorizations, validates, and indexes documents.
• Schedules specialty visits and coordinates preparation.
• Prepares schedules, tracks records, and navigates multiple systems efficiently.
• Coordinates documentation and follows up on case-related tasks.
• Assesses coverage and initiates financial assistance.
• Applies payer-specific rules, resolves issues, and identifies contract limitations.
• Resolves moderate concerns and tracks follow-ups with patients.
• Educates patients and reports usage trends on kiosks.
• Validates insurance and tracks referral status.
• Coordinates special needs transport.
• Resolves minor chart issues and assists with release of information (ROI).
• Provides documentation to utilization review (UR) teams.
