The Patient Access Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected, and facilitating patient flow through the Northwestern Medicine system. The specialist will also perform medical necessity checks, inform patients of financial responsibilities, and assist with scheduling appointments. Cross-training between various departments may be required to ensure coverage and maintain operational efficiency. The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to all departmental policies and compliance requirements, while prioritizing patient confidentiality and avoiding financial or safety risks.
