About The Position

The Patient Access Scheduling Agent is the front door for patients seeking access to the appropriate care, provider, and appointment time. The role performs complex scheduling activities across multiple providers, clinics, departments, practices, and campuses while providing exceptional patient service. This is a partially remote, part-time position scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for 20 hours per week. The hiring range is $20.94–$29.27 per hour based on a full-time schedule; compensation is prorated for part-time or reduced schedules. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for new hires, subject to eligibility confirmation by the Recruitment Team.

Requirements

High school diploma.
English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in business or a healthcare-related field.
Previous scheduling and/or telephone customer service experience.
Previous experience in a healthcare organization.
Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

Handle incoming calls from patients, families, and referring providers to schedule appointments across providers, clinics, departments, practices, and campuses.
Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
Gather patient demographics, insurance information, and account-guarantor information needed for the financial aspects of care; update and correct patient insurance and demographic information.
Collect patient liabilities before or on the date of service, as appropriate.
Obtain medical records from outside healthcare organizations based on the appointment visit type so providers have necessary information.
Schedule in-office procedures, including the appointment and the room where the procedure will take place.
