The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring patient safety by identifying the correct patient, special needs, and preparing isolation precautions for patients with Infectious Disease indicators. This role provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff, and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission, and scheduling. The representative investigates and resolves customer requests, questions, or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures, and contacts outside representatives for information or assistance. Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding patient/family personal medical and financial information is crucial. The role also involves completing and authenticating documents for regulatory compliance (JCAHO, CMS, ODH) and supporting the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring necessary data, information, and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the system. This includes communicating with management about system errors or recommending changes.
