About The Position

Total Access Urgent Care (TAUC) is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join their team. This role is crucial in shaping the patient experience from beginning to end, ensuring a warm, friendly, and professional interaction. TAUC has been providing top-ranked patient care since 2008 and offers state-of-the-art facilities and a wide range of medical services. The Patient Access Representative will be responsible for greeting patients, guiding them through the intake process, and ensuring a positive final impression. The ideal candidate will be responsive, calm under pressure, and empathetic to patient concerns, aligning with TAUC's mission of providing fast, friendly, and affordable care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (you may “rove” between locations during a shift)
  • Available to work 12-hour shifts (no overnights), with alternating weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor, ensuring they feel welcome and cared for from the start.
  • Guide patients through the initial intake process with clarity and patience.
  • Thank patients, leaving them with a sense of confidence and satisfaction.
  • Be responsive, calm under pressure, and empathetic to patient concerns, ensuring each interaction supports our mission of providing fast, friendly and affordable care.
  • Welcome and check in 30–60 patients per day in a high volume, fast-paced clinic setting.
  • Input patient information accurately into our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage using online tools and EMR systems.
  • Clearly explain co-pays, deductibles, and coverage questions in a friendly, easy-to-understand way.
  • Collect co-pays and explain visit costs with professionalism.
  • Handle sensitive or difficult conversations with tact and professionalism.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with patient questions or follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Create a warm, helpful, and efficient front desk experience for every visitor.
