Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients in the Emergency Department, verify information and collect copays for diagnostic services and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members and setting the tone for how their visit to the Emergency Department goes. A caregiver in this position works 3pm - 11pm including every other weekend and every other holiday. Please note that if you are selected, you will need to attend a 2-week EPIC training starting on your first day. The training is Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM on-site at Green Health and Wellness. You will need to attend all days of this training. Once the training is complete, you will then start work on your assigned schedule/shift. In order to be considered, you will need to acknowledge that you are able to attend the full duration of the training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role with in person or phone contact OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration and complete an accurate face-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
