This is a part-time, benefits-eligible role. The Patient Access Representative will greet and register patients, answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and pull and file medical charts when indicated. The role involves providing excellent customer service, obtaining accurate patient demographic, insurance, and physician information, screening customer data for insurance eligibility, and communicating differences to the customer. The representative will also screen registrations to ensure insurance pre-certification and physician referral requirements are met, instruct customers on requirements, assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance, and establish and maintain open communication with all departments Patient Access interacts with and clinical staff in those areas. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the shadowing/precepting of new employees.
