About The Position

This is a per diem (as needed) position to support multiple locations including Outpatient Labs, Diagnostic Imaging Admitting, Rio Vista Imaging, Outpatient Services, and Heart & Vascular—both on-site and off-site—with varying hours of operation ranging from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The role involves registering patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information, receiving and responding to inquiries, determining financial status, completing financial/insurance related functions, communicating with third party payors, collecting payments, completing reports, and communicating with various departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred or process of obtaining one
• Certified Patient Account Technician CPAT preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information.
• Receive, investigate and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Determine the financial status of the patient and or guarantor and complete all financial/insurance related functions and signatures.
• Communicate with third party payors, obtain insurance benefits and obtain insurance authorizations.
• Collect money due from patient at admission, or in ER setting, prior to discharge.
• Complete all necessary reports.
• Communicate with Case Management, Patient Financial Services and Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team and all other departments when appropriate.
