About The Position

Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. You will conduct professional patient interviews, obtaining demographic, financial, and biographical information. This position is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence. The ideal candidate has flexible hours to work weekdays as well as weekends. The hours could be between 6:00am-6:00pm as well as 6:00pm-6:00am. The minimum PRN requirement is 24 hours per month with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts as needed. We are looking for someone that is excited about working with people and has a positive attitude. The ideal candidate has strong computer and critical thinking skills and has the ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment.

Requirements

Less than 1 year of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct professional patient interviews, obtaining demographic, financial, and biographical information.
Understand insurance terminology.
Obtain information to appropriately bill payors.
Verify patient insurance eligibility.
Confirm benefits eligibility.
Gather statistical information in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Complete payment transactions by using proper negotiating techniques to professionally collect money owed by our Patients and Guarantors.
Make referrals to appropriate financial resources, such as payment plans and lines of credit.
