As a Patient Access Representative in Central Scheduling, you're often the first connection patients have with our health system. Whether they're scheduling a routine appointment or coordinating specialized services, you help guide them to the right care at the right time. Your attention to detail, compassion, and problem-solving skills help make scheduling simple, accurate, and stress-free—creating a seamless experience for both patients and providers.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask while navigating multiple computer systems
  • A calm, friendly approach when helping patients over the phone
  • Confidence solving problems and finding scheduling solutions
  • Experience in customer service or healthcare
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced call center or scheduling environment
  • High School Diploma or GED (or 2 years of applicable experience in lieu of education)
  • 2 years of customer service and/or healthcare experience

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments across multiple specialties and locations
  • Verify insurance eligibility and ensure required information is complete
  • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and scheduling requirements when needed
  • Help patients find appointment times that best meet their needs
  • Answer incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service
  • Communicate with providers, clinics, and care teams to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate patient records while protecting confidentiality
