The Patient Access Representative 1 (On-Site) registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments. This role involves projecting a welcoming professional demeanor, interacting effectively with patients of all ages and the healthcare team, and coordinating a wide range of functions from pre-arrival to discharge utilizing multiple systems simultaneously. The representative will perform pre-service validation, assist patients with self-serve technology, coordinate patient flow, and accurately enter and update demographic, financial, and clinical information. They will also collect and process currency, reconcile cash drawers, and perform end-of-day reconciliation and bank deposits. This position requires cross-training for all Front-End Revenue Cycle and Clinical Support functions and the ability to float across all areas as needed. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, JC, AHCA, EMTALA, and CMS is essential.
