It also involves ensuring compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others, obtaining necessary signatures, and potentially scheduling appointments. The Patient Access Rep provides detailed information about test preparations and arrival procedures, creates a welcoming environment, answers the telephone, and works assigned electronic health record work queues.
