About The Position

This is a per diem position during weekdays, specifically Monday through Friday day shift, with a 5 am start time at surgical sites. The role involves patient registration, collection of copayments, and gathering all patient demographic information. Key processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability information. Training and orientation will last 2-3 weeks, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and may include time in Springfield, MA. A third week of training is required for new hires with less than one year of hospital registration experience.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances

Nice To Haves

• Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
• Obtain approvals and payments on site
• Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
• Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
