About The Position

This position is per diem (generally around 20 hours per week but could be depending on business needs). Ability to cover 3rd shift is a must and ability to also cover 1st and 2nd shift as needed is highly preferred. Our office is located at 440 Hopkinsville St., Greenville KY 42345. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to work per diem (generally around 20 hours a week) with the ability to cover 3rd shift hours (overnight shift) at minimum
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
  • 1+ years of experience in Customer Service
  • Ability to cover 1st shift hours
  • Ability to cover 2nd shift hours
  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the registration of all patients' accessing services with emphasis on patient access/satisfaction, insurance/demographic verification and accuracy, scheduling, and point of service collection, while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and ethics
  • Greet patients
  • Coordinate patient flow to reduce wait times
  • Assist patients with intake processes
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Confirms eligibility and verifies insurance benefits
  • Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately
  • May schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs
  • Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment
  • Counsels' patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate
  • Accepts payments and co-pays
  • Communicates effectively with insurance companies, external agencies, patients, physicians, and team members
