About The Position
This full-time, day shift position is responsible for patient registration, collection of copayments, and gathering all patient demographic information. The role involves obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability information, including pre-registration, obtaining approvals and payments, explaining liabilities, and referring patients for financial counseling. Accurate data entry and payment posting are key components of this role.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Nice To Haves
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
- Third week required if new hire has less than 1 year experience doing registration in a hospital
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
