About The Position
This role is part of the Admitting Arrival team and is responsible for patient registration, collecting copayments, and gathering all necessary patient demographic information. The position involves processing accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability details. The role includes a two-week training/orientation period, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM, which may include time training in Springfield, MA. The regular work schedule is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 6 AM-2:30 PM in Radiology/MRI.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
