About The Position

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care. Position Summary The Patient Access Registrar uses various tools to determine and accurately verify patient’s insurance benefits and coverage. Securing financial responsibilities with each patient by financially assessing patients, determination of ability to pay, collection of deposits, negotiation of payment arrangements, securing financing of self-pay liability, identification of funding sources. Maintain database for patient accounting this log will detail all discharges and missed opportunities to collect. Reporting to back-end Business Office changes with patient’s coverage and communicate to Admissions any errors and changes within the patient insurance.

Requirements

Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years of admissions and/or collections experience in a hospital setting is required.
Must have strong written and verbal skills; ability to deal effectively with all levels of hospital management and the public.
Must be able to demonstrate average to high math skills.
Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner
Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.

Nice To Haves

psychiatric experience is preferred.
Prior experience with on-line Admissions/Billing systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

Ensures accurate data entry of inquiry calls, admissions, transfers, and discharges into MS4
Screens non-clinical patient questions and transfer to the appropriate clinical parties.
Appropriately documents call in accordance with facility and departmental policies, maintain call records and file them accordingly.
Assists callers with questions regarding program information and treatment options.
