About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Gravette, Arkansas, is seeking a Patient Access Manager for its Patient Access Department. The mission of OCH is to provide exceptional healthcare and preventive services with compassion, respect, and dignity, focusing on the underserved and improving access to care. The Patient Access Manager will provide daily leadership and operational oversight for the Hospital's Central Referral team and offer leadership support and coordination to the Admissions team through a dotted-line reporting relationship. This role is crucial for ensuring an efficient, timely, and seamless patient access process, maintaining accuracy in patient demographics, financial, insurance, referral, authorization, and billing requirements. The Manager will oversee the Central Referral team's daily operations, including staffing, workflow, quality assurance, performance management, training, and process improvement. The position demands timely and professional responses to referral calls, provider inquiries, and patient access needs, fostering high service levels and patient satisfaction. Collaboration with the Director of Patient Access and other leaders is expected to identify opportunities for departmental efficiency, patient flow, service delivery, and overall patient experience improvements. The role also involves providing staffing and operational support as needed and assisting with the development and implementation of departmental strategies, policies, procedures, and training initiatives. The Patient Access Manager reports directly to the Director of Patient Access. This description outlines the most significant duties but does not preclude additional or developmental assignments. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Data entry and word processing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Healthcare Patient Access Experience required, with progressively responsible experience in patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, financial clearance, care coordination, or other related front-end revenue cycle functions.
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience required, which may include lead, supervisory, training, project coordination, or other operational support in a healthcare or Patient Access environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-site healthcare organization or group preferred.
  • Associate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, health information management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily leadership and operational oversight of the Hospital's Central Referral team.

  • Ensures timely and professional responses to incoming referral calls, provider inquiries, and patient access needs while promoting a high level of service and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Patient Access and other organizational leaders to identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency, patient flow, service delivery, and overall patient experience.
  • Provides staffing and operational support as needed.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of departmental strategies, policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
