About The Position

The Patient Access Manager provides vital strategic direction, leadership, and operational management for the Registration, Financial Clearance, and Authorization teams across Southwoods Health—including The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods and Triad Health Services. In this role, you will design efficient workflows, establish performance benchmarks, and foster a culture of accountability and service excellence. You will ensure all front-end revenue cycle activities comply seamlessly with organizational policies, payer requirements, and federal/state regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field OR 5+ years of progressive experience in patient access/revenue cycle management.
  • A results-driven leader with proven healthcare management experience and the ability to maintain a poised, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, sharp prioritization instincts, and expert time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) designation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish measurable productivity metrics and goals for registration and financial clearance sub-functions; partner with team supervisors to achieve and sustain top-tier results.
  • Manage, mentor, and build a high-performing revenue cycle team, focusing on high engagement, training, professional retention, and employee satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous optimization initiatives by implementing strong internal managerial controls and leveraging modern technology across workflows.
  • Support the financial viability of Southwoods Health by driving patient financial engagement initiatives and ensuring clean front-end data to optimize reimbursement outcomes.
  • Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with physicians, clinical service line managers, and office personnel; provide ongoing education regarding regulatory changes in patient access.
  • Keep workflows up-to-date with evolving healthcare regulations; oversee daily staff scheduling, payroll approvals, time-off requests, and overtime tracking.
