About The Position

The Emergency Department Patient Access Coordinator supervises an assigned shift in the Emergency Department which operates 24/7/365. This job oversees and manages registration operations and assigned staff, coordinates staffing coverage and monitors patient flow. This job also ensures registration and admissions are completed for the designated shift in an efficient and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of patient registration/scheduling work experience in a healthcare setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Incumbents are required to cover three shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled and are considered essential personnel and expected to report to work as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned registration staff to including hiring, completing performance evaluations, training, and coordinating/delivering disciplinary action.
  • Handles the day-to-day operations of the shift independently.
  • Resolves registration issues independently.
  • Ensures registration and admissions are completed for the designated shift in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Oversees and manages registration operations and assigned staff.
  • Coordinates staffing coverage and monitors patient flow.
