In the Emergency Department, no two moments are the same—and your role is critical. As a Patient Access Associate, you’re often the first point of contact during some of a patient’s most stressful and urgent situations. Whether it’s an unexpected emergency or a critical moment, you bring calm, clarity, and compassion from the very start. Your ability to stay focused, organized, and empathetic helps patients and families feel supported—even in high-pressure situations. This role is responsible for greeting and assisting patients and families with urgency and empathy, registering patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits, verifying insurance, demographics, and required documentation, communicating clearly and compassionately in high-stress situations, supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed, and partnering with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency.
