The Patient Access Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring accurate collection of demographic and financial information, and facilitating patient flow through the Northwestern Medicine system. The specialist will also perform medical necessity checks, communicate financial responsibilities, and maintain patient confidentiality. Cross-training between various departments may be required to ensure coverage. The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to departmental policies and compliance requirements.
