This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly) with a Monday-Friday dayshift schedule. The Patient Access Assistant I works under direct supervision and represents the System in a professional manner, using good customer service practices. The role involves collecting accurate financial, biographic, and demographic information from patients, explaining financial requirements, and collecting deposits or deductibles. Responsibilities include explaining insurance coverages, scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out duties, receiving payments, managing work queues, reconciling daily cash and account balances, researching billing questions, and supporting process flow improvements. The position may require travel to other medical practices. Common expectations include typing, filing, answering phones, maintaining records, adhering to policies and procedures, and providing outstanding customer service.
