About The Position

Are you interested in a position helping to recruit external job seekers and students within your community? Look no further! We’re hiring a Pathways to Work Specialist to join our UPMC team! This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of three days/week onsite at US Steel or in the community. The Pathways to Work Specialist provides a blend of recruitment skills and community outreach initiatives. This position involves working with our community partners, outreaching to our members, and partnering with our recruitment team to build talent pipelines and offer support and guidance to all prospective candidates including those with various barriers to work. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning, attending, and presenting at recruitment events/information sessions that are occasionally held during evening hours. The Pathways to Work Specialist also supports the Pathways for Student Program, serving high school and college students seeking early career opportunities at UPMC. This multifaceted role includes responsibilities such as training delivery, facilitation, and developing newsletter content. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and one year of experience in community outreach, HR/Recruitment, or related area
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience community outreach, HR/Recruitment, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with community organizations and/or student population preferred.
  • Event planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, host, and/or attend recruitment events and interview/information sessions.
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for external applicants, of all levels and types of positions, including management.
  • Act as an advocate to candidates for resume assistance, interview preparation and job navigation.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to candidates, members and community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC HS sponsored events, etc.), provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities.
  • Comply, analyze and prepare reports on the computer and work on special projects as requested.
