About The Position

The NCDOT Leadership Development Program Manager plays a key role in building a leadership development pipeline across the department, by providing strategic direction and thought leadership on NCDOT leadership development programs and processes. This position delivers that NCDOT Pathways Leadership Development Program, the Assessment Center, and executive coaching. The Manager conducts leadership assessments and plays a role in the talent management process; designs and implements leadership development programs by partnering with external institutions/learning centers and internal stakeholders; and works with senior leaders to ensure deployment of critical development needs across the organization, and for specific individuals targeted as current and future leaders. This role ensures NCDOT is developing the skills and capabilities of employees to support the growth and evolution of the department. This position supervises two employees. In addition to delivering leadership development, this position supervises the Learning and Development Unit. In that capacity, the position provides strategic direction and alignment for the Learning and Development Unit, ensuring that learning experiences are delivered according to development needs and the strategic direction of the agency, and developed using optimal instructional design, learning modality selection, and learning technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of program experience related to the area of assignment, including one year of supervisory program experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities
