The successful candidate will play a very important and critical role in Ericsson's global patent licensing program. The Patent Assertion Lawyer will work closely with senior members of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Licensing organization worldwide! The Patent Assertion Lawyer will be involved in developing patent assertion and enforcement strategy of Ericsson’s industry-leading portfolio of over 60,000 patents!

Requirements

  • Top academic credentials from an accredited law school and undergraduate degree with Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
  • Ten (10) or more years of demonstrated experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of patent litigation, patent enforcement and patent related arbitrations
  • Ability to effectively handle enforcement activities to successful conclusion
  • Be admitted to practice in Texas
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience and confidence to independently assert patent coverage and enforcement positions to potential licensees

Responsibilities

  • Actively support Ericsson's out-licensing activities by helping to identify potential licensees and provide detailed technical analysis
  • Map patents against the products and services being provided by such potential licensees, playing a major role in negotiations with potential licensees by conducting relevant technical discussions
  • Support any litigation that may become necessary to effectively license Ericsson’s Intellectual Property (IP)
  • Assess and evaluate third party patents and portfolios
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of working processes to further enhance Ericsson’s patent portfolio strength
