About The Position

As a Pastry Cook 1, you will play an essential role in the Pastry Department by preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, chocolates, and specialty items that enhance the guest dining experience. This position supports daily restaurant operations and banquet events by ensuring all pastry products are prepared to Four Seasons quality standards in a safe and sanitary environment.

Requirements

High school diploma, culinary school education, culinary institute training, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of four years of culinary or pastry experience in a professional kitchen environment.
Advanced knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, ingredients, and production methods.
Ability to safely operate and maintain commercial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters.
Strong knife skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare pastries, desserts, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fruit compotes, chocolates, and showpieces according to recipes, guest orders, and presentation standards.
Complete daily mise en place and maintain workstation readiness for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet service.
Ensure consistent product quality while adhering to established production and portion standards.
Prepare food items in advance based on forecasted business levels while minimizing waste.
Safely operate, maintain, and clean all pastry and baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, food processors, slicers, waffle irons, and dough sheeters.
Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, label and date food products, and store perishables at proper temperatures.
Assist in controlling food costs by reducing waste, monitoring usage, and supporting proper inventory management practices.
Identify shortages and communicate out-of-stock items to supervisors in a timely manner.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company compliance standards.
Work collaboratively and professionally with team members and supervisors to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
