About The Position

Glenmere Mansion, a Relais & Chateaux Boutique Hotel, restaurant and spa located in the lower Hudson Valley of New York (Chester, NY), is seeking a Pastry Chef. This role involves taking over a fully staffed pastry department and being responsible for planning and executing dessert menus for restaurants, as well as menu planning for corporate events and weddings. The Pastry Chef will work alongside Executive Chef Gunnar Thompson, the Tattinger "Grand Chef of the Year" for Relais & Chateaux worldwide.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in fine dining
  • Well versed in bread production
  • Well versed in cake decorating
  • Well versed in plated desserts
  • Strong, mature leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing dessert menus for restaurants
  • Menu planning for corporate events and weddings
  • Leading a fully staffed pastry department
