About The Position
We have an opening for a full time HOURLY PASTRY CHEF position. This role creates, plans, and supervises the daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The position is with Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering. This is a full-time position with a pay range of $20.00 to $29.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Two to four years of previous pastry chef experience is required.
- The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
- The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
- Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled, and appropriate quantities are prepared based on established production needs.
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
- Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state, and corporate standards and regulations.
- Assists with production planning, inventory management, and stock rotation.
- Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.
- Creates, plans, and executes the daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
- Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
- Helps plan and implement seasonal menus.
- Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
