About The Position

Almena Bible Church, a small, independent church with a mission to make believers and deepen relationships with God, is seeking a doctrinally sound Pastor. The church is located in a rural area with a population of 363, near Norton, KS, which offers modern amenities and recreational opportunities. The church family is loving, caring, and multigenerational, seeking to deepen their relationship with Christ. This position is ideal for a retired pastor seeking a less demanding role with flexibility, but young pastors are also welcome. The Pastor will be responsible for spiritual leadership, teaching from the Bible, leading worship, establishing a Christ-centered vision, and fostering evangelism and community outreach.

Requirements

A born-again believer in Jesus Christ with beliefs centered on God’s Holy Word.
Holds to the standards required in 1 Timothy 3:1-2 and Titus 1:6-9.
Committed to the terms of salvation outlined in Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9, Matthew 16:16.
Able to administer The Lord’s Supper, marriages, funerals, baby dedications, etc.
Possess and maintain a clean driving record.
Must complete and pass a Criminal Background Check (CBC) if offered the position.

Nice To Haves

Ideal for a retired Pastor who wants to continue serving in a less demanding small church with lots of flexibility in pastoral duties.
2-3 years of Senior or Lead Pastoral Experience preferred.
New graduates will be considered.
4 year degree from an accredited Bible College or accredited seminary preferred; 2-3 year degrees considered.

Responsibilities

Overseeing and mentoring leadership within the church family.
Representing our church in community outreach activities and charitable events.
Organizing weekly services and delivering Biblically based messages.
Communicating with members of the congregation and providing spiritual guidance, including pastoral care for nursing home residents.
Maintaining the Church social media presence.
Providing spiritual support and oversight of all youth ministry endeavors.
Maintaining consistent office hours.
