About The Position

The Global Education Office is pleased to announce an exciting employment opportunity! The Global Education Office is looking for a Passport Center Assistant to assist the Passport Acceptance Agents with passport duties at UNM's Passport Center located inside the UNM Bookstore. This position is required to work every Friday from 12:30-4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. More hours may be available in the Fall semester. The position requires fast and friendly customer service and will be working directly with the public in both appointment and walk-in capacities. This position will be responsible for greeting and signing in customers, taking and processing photographs, including printing and cutting, collecting and making copies of passport application documents, moving equipment and supplies to the Bookstore Lobby for Saturday operations, survey collection and data entry, and other tasks as assigned. The position requires learning about the requirements needed to obtain a passport and must be able to answer questions about applying for a passport as well as general questions about the Global Education Office. As an extension of the Global Education Office and the U.S. Department of State, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a highly professional, friendly, and open manner, demonstrate a positive attitude, and actively problem-solve in this role.

Requirements

  • Required to work on Fridays from 12:30-4:00 p.m.
  • Required to work on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Must be able to learn about passport application requirements.
  • Must be able to answer questions about applying for a passport and general questions about the Global Education Office.
