About The Position

The PASS Grant Coordinator will lead the implementation and oversight of the Promoting Academically Successful Students (PASS) program at CT State Naugatuck Valley. This role supports student retention and academic achievement through targeted interventions, coaching, and coordination of support services. The Coordinator also serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the PASS grant, acting as the primary liaison to the Connecticut Office of Higher Education and ensuring full compliance with grant requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field together with two (2) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.
  • Experience implementing strategies that enhance student success and engagement while providing guidance, support, and resources to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Experience with academic coaching or mentoring.
  • Knowledge of managing grant-funded programs, including budget oversight, reporting, and compliance with state and institutional policies.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple program components and ensure alignment with grant objectives and timelines.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting student performance data to assess program effectiveness.
  • Ability to use data systems and tools to track student engagement, generate reports, and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Knowledge of retention strategies and student success initiatives.
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., Banner, Navigate).
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the PASS program, including outreach, enrollment, and service delivery.
  • Provide academic skill coaching and support to students identified as at-risk or on academic probation.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the PASS grant, overseeing all reporting, compliance, and communication with the Office of Higher Education.
  • Collaborate with tutoring staff, advisors, and faculty to align support services with student needs.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on academic skills, time management, and study strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders and external grant agencies.
  • Assist in budget tracking and ensure expenditure aligns with grant guidelines.
  • Promote the PASS program across campus and in the community to increase awareness and participation.
