About The Position

The Parts Testing Technician position is responsible for the evaluation, testing and validation of ultrasound systems, probes, and parts, including incoming loaner systems, incoming purchased parts/probes, RMAs, service returns, trade-in equipment, and eval-to-purchase equipment. The Parts Testing Technician will perform all responsibilities of testing, measuring, and recording for acceptance of ultrasound equipment, probes, and parts in a production environment and/or perform product development and qualifications of ultrasound equipment in a lab environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 1-3 years of troubleshooting/testing experience required
  • Exceptionally strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to strategize, implement and retain effective business relationships

  • Ability to maintain an elevated level of accuracy in preparing and entering data

  • Requires utilizing precision tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair ultrasound systems, probes, and parts
  • Effective use of Enterprise systems, email, search engine, Internet; ability to effectively use Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams; ability to use and understand Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and to use or learn specific software needed to improved productivity
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write effective, collaborative correspondence
  • Capacity to read through policies, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees of the organization
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to talk or hear continuously
  • Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift
  • Driving record that is insurable

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree in biomedical or electronics engineering or other relevant course of study preferred
  • experience in the medical device industry highly preferred
  • Above average troubleshooting knowledge of multi-OEM ultrasound systems and probes a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks in a logical progression to properly test, diagnose, and evaluate ultrasound systems, probes, and parts
  • Effectively carries out the testing of ultrasound probes and parts utilizing proper techniques, tools, error logs, and experience
  • Comprehensively understands how ultrasound probes and parts work, how they integrate with the system, and the value individual parts contribute to the overall system
  • Completes and maintains accurate documentation of testing processes as needed and accurately and timely enters and updates information in various parts tracking databases
  • Inspects and tests fully repaired probes and parts, as well as incoming rental systems, purchased parts/probes, RMAs, service returns, trade-in equipment, and eval-to-purchase equipment, to ensure quality control and that Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and guidelines are adhered to
  • Responds to parts availability requests in a timely manner to support scheduling and customer commitments
  • Maintains assigned Quality Assurance (QA) Bays
  • Complies with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per ISO:13485 2016 standards and the Company's Quality Management System
  • Demonstrates success and a passion for servicing and learning new technologies
  • Identifies improvement opportunities to processes and offers applications and solutions to promote optimal efficiency
  • Works professionally and efficiently with all levels within the organization
  • Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
