As an Electromechanical Testing Technician at Areté, you will be responsible for assembling, calibrating, and testing AIRTRAC lasers. You will be working with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians whose job is to design, develop, test, and produce lasers. Your duties will include assembling laser systems, aligning lasers on test benches, calibrating and testing production lasers, and running environmental screening tests. You will be involved with handling the set up and use of complex optical equipment independently or under the direction of an optical engineer and conducting optical measurements and testing to support laser alignment, laser fabrication, and laser performance measurements. This is a full-time, non-exempt, non-supervisory position based in our Niwot, CO office.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, optical sensors, cameras, and detectors
  • Experience with mechanical assembly
  • Ability to follow professional documentation and thoroughly document test results
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, or AA/AS in a Technical or Engineering field or similar relevant discipline. Significant relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement
  • Good communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required
  • Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required

Nice To Haves

  • Strong computer skills
  • Background in optical alignment and/or imaging
  • Experience with optical and environmental testing
