Parts Specialist
About The Position
The Parts Specialist provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management in accomplishing assigned tasks. The role includes assisting customers in person and by phone, processing transactions and returns, maintaining merchandise and store presentation, completing daily operational tasks, and performing certain customer vehicle services where permitted by law. The specialist may occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs require and must meet company driving eligibility requirements. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Ability to multitask while handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
- Must meet company-mandated driving eligibility requirements when driving a delivery vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities
- Follow and promote company customer service programs, including Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, and Rock the Lot.
- Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and courteously, and assist with merchandise selection.
- Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as directed.
- Complete company training relevant to the position.
- Answer store phone calls according to company policy; look up parts and prices accurately, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer; accept cash and checks, make change, and process credit card transactions accurately.
- Process exchanges and returns for credit according to company policies and procedures, and address customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image-maker and planogram updates, freight receiving, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
- Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center; assist with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts.
- Operate a brake lathe and other store test equipment after completing required training and meeting company requirements.
- Perform in-store customer services where permitted by state and local laws, such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, testing charging systems, scanning vehicle trouble codes, and replacing headlight capsules.
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate, subject to company driving eligibility requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
