About The Position

The Parts Specialist provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management in completing assigned tasks. The role involves assisting customers in person and by phone, handling transactions and returns, maintaining store presentation and inventory, completing training, and performing certain in-store automotive services after required training and where permitted by law. The specialist may occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate and driving eligibility requirements are met. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
• Ability to multitask while handling customers by phone and in the store at the same time.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
• ASE certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote company customer service programs, including Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, and Rock the Lot.
• Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and courteously, and help them select merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as directed.
• Complete company training relevant to the position.
• Answer store phone calls according to company policy; look up parts and quote prices accurately, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer; accept cash and checks, make change accurately, and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Help complete daily image-maker and planogram updates, receive freight, stock shelves, front and face merchandise, and clean.
• Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center; assist with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts.
• Operate a brake lathe and other store test equipment after completing corresponding training and meeting company requirements.
• Perform in-store customer services where state and local laws allow, such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, testing charging systems, scanning vehicle trouble codes, and replacing headlight capsules.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate, subject to company driving eligibility requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
