About The Position

Volvo, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is currently looking for a talented Automotive Shipping/Receiving Clerk that aligns with our core values and acts with respect, integrity, growth, humility and teamwork. As a group, we aim to become the most esteemed automotive group by treating people R.I.G.H.T and creating lifetime customers! This is a physically demanding position. Stand six to eight hours per shift. He/she will lift and transport parts weighing up to 70 pounds several times during a shift from platform to storage area. He/she will also work on a Video Display Terminal and will operate tier-lift and hand trucks. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• One year of experience in a dealership position is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
• Ability to use parts department computer system, calculator, motor vehicle, and tier-lift and hand trucks.
• Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, pliers, wrenches, and tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of goods.
• Verify shipment details by counting, weighing, or measuring items against bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders.
• Pack, label, and prepare shipments using appropriate containers, protective materials, and shipping documentation.
• Inspect incoming deliveries for damage or shortages, document issues, and coordinate resolution with shippers.
• Select and determine shipping methods based on procedures, routes, and cost efficiency.
• Operate material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks or forklifts) to move, organize, and stage inventory and shipments.
• Maintain shipping supplies and support process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
