POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment. $19.00/hour - Monday-Friday, hours 9-6.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • One year of experience in a dealership position is required.
  • He/she must have a valid driver's license and have the ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
  • The ability to use parts department computer system, calculator, motor vehicle, and tier-lift and hand trucks is also necessary.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, pliers, wrenches, and tape measure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of goods.
  • Verify shipment details by counting, weighing, or measuring items against bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Pack, label, and prepare shipments using appropriate containers, protective materials, and shipping documentation.
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for damage or shortages, document issues, and coordinate resolution with shippers.
  • Select and determine shipping methods based on procedures, routes, and cost efficiency.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks or forklifts) to move, organize, and stage inventory and shipments.
  • Maintain shipping supplies and support process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
