About The Position

The Parts & Service Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and operational performance of the branch Parts and Service departments. This position provides strategic direction and day-to-day management of personnel, financial performance, customer satisfaction, inventory, workflow, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while delivering exceptional support to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Previous leadership or management experience, preferably within the heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, truck, or industrial service industry is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment diagnostics and hydraulic systems; experience reading hydraulic schematics is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, inventory, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized business systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for Parts and Service personnel, fostering employee development and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring exceptional service and responsive support throughout the territory.
  • Promote all Parts and Service offerings while partnering closely with the Sales team to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Drive revenue growth by proactively identifying service opportunities and expanding customer engagement.
  • Oversee daily operations, including shop and field technician workflow, scheduling, work order management, inventory control, purchasing, and customer communications.
  • Manage departmental financial performance, including budgeting, inventory investment, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability.
  • Ensure timely, accurate processing of warranty claims in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives by implementing standard operating procedures, best practices, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with equipment manufacturers and vendor representatives.
  • Manage departmental capital expenditures and projects while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment by ensuring adherence to all company safety and security policies.
  • Ensure all Parts and Service operations are conducted in accordance with Roland Machinery Company policies and procedures.
