About The Position

The Parts Runner is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of parts, supplies, and vehicles for Fleet Services, also cleaning and re-stock the parts room and fuel island. This is an hourly position that will work a maximum of 29 hours/week.

Requirements

• Ability to operate and maintain vehicles and equipment such as snowplow and forklift.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment fit for duty test.
• Submit to Pre-employment drug test
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to two years related experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers and citizens.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to transport parts and supplies to and from a variety of locations.
• Re-stock and cleans the Parts Room.
• Assists the Shop Operations with vehicle shuttle and shop clean-up.
• Cleans and performs daily checks on delivery vehicle.
• Answers phones and provides general information as needed.
• Stocks and cleans fuel island.
