About The Position

The Parts Room Technician I at Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company, located at the Equipment & Assembly Plant in Pittsburgh, PA, is responsible for various warehousing and inventory management tasks. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, using power tools, and managing inventory parts for production and sales orders. The technician will also be responsible for packing and shipping sales orders, receiving and verifying delivered parts, performing inventory transactions in SAP, conducting cycle counts, and participating in the yearly physical inventory process. Additionally, the role may require assisting in other shop areas and performing light maintenance such as clearing snow and salting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • 0-2 years Industrial experience is required
  • Forklift operation
  • Hand tools (including power tools)
  • Jib hoist operation
  • Overhead cranes operation

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trucks using overhead cranes
  • Operates fork trucks
  • Uses small power tools
  • Operates and maintains all personal safety equipment
  • Clears and salts snow at assigned locations
  • Assist with general warehousing duties
  • Pulls inventory parts and issues them to production for project work
  • Works with materials and parts based on drawings and bills of materials
  • Locates and issues parts for daily sales orders
  • Packs and ships sales orders using UPS WorldShip (domestic and international)
  • Weighs and loads carbon into small systems as needed
  • Receives parts delivered to E&A
  • Performs goods receipt transactions in SAP
  • Verifies quantities of received materials
  • Performs and documents cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Participates in yearly physical inventory process
  • Assists in other shop areas as required
