About The Position

The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts while providing courteous, careful, and professional service to customers. The role includes preparing deliveries, handling payments, assisting with shipping and receiving, and ensuring that parts and invoices are accounted for. The driver is also responsible for loading and unloading parts according to customer instructions, maintaining a clean vehicle, and learning the work of other interacting positions in the parts department.

Requirements

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must have excellent reading skills and legible handwriting.
• Must have a valid operator’s license and a good driving record.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project a positive, helpful, and professional attitude toward customers.
• Drive courteously and carefully at all times and follow the Company seat-belt policy.
• Check the delivery board and prepare deliveries by lining up the appropriate parts and invoices.
• Check with parts department personnel about any additional required stops.
• Receive incoming funds and turn in customer check or cash payments to the cashier daily.
• Assist the shipping and receiving clerk as needed.
• Verify that deliveries and pickups are complete and that parts ordered, delivered, and signed for are accounted for.
• Load and unload customer parts according to any special customer instructions.
• Keep the vehicle clean at all times.
• Learn the skills of other interacting positions in the department to understand all aspects of the parts department.
