About The Position

Peterson Trucks is hiring a Casual Help/Delivery Driver at its San Martin, California location. This is a limited-duration position lasting six months or less. The Parts Delivery Driver drives a passenger truck to deliver and sell products or render services, collects money from customers, and makes change. The role requires safe driving, customer interaction, delivery and transaction documentation, loading parts, and maintaining punctual attendance. The driver also performs routine truck maintenance and works cooperatively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and one year of driving experience and three to six months of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

Responsibilities

Drive a company truck safely to deliver parts to customers’ places of business.
Collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer receipts.
Write customer orders, including customer instructions.
Record sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery records.
Prepare order forms and sales contracts.
Listen to service complaints and relay them to a supervisor.
Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Load the truck with parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Obtain or provide customer signatures on receipts for pickups or deliveries.
Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Perform routine truck maintenance, check lights, water, and oil, and keep the inside of the truck clean.
Work collaboratively in a team environment.
Communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure when working with customers and coworkers.
Take direction respectfully from a supervisor or manager.
