The Parts Counterperson sells, at retail, parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in parts sales or an automotive dealership parts department.
  • 1+ years of sales experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting parts, suggest companion items, and promote full product line exposure.
  • Manage stock by pulling purchases, determining availability, and submitting emergency orders.
  • Handle phone inquiries, providing price quotes and assisting outside sales representatives.
  • Set up orders for shipment, delivery, or pick up on a daily basis.
  • Verify and manage "will call" and "back order" files, returning items not needed or stocking those required.
  • Support service technicians in selecting parts for ongoing repairs.
  • Open repair order envelopes for new orders and order necessary parts not in stock.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman and customers upon the receipt of ordered parts.
  • Manage parts phones during peak times at the front counter.
  • Enforce proper procedures for charging out parts, issuing credits for returns, and handling tax-exempt sales, while maintaining a clean and organized counter area.
