About The Position

The Parts Counter Sales position involves overseeing the entire parts sales process, from initial customer interaction to order fulfillment and payment. This role requires excellent communication skills to interact with both staff and customers, providing information, price quotes, and status updates. A key responsibility is accurately identifying and ordering parts using electronic catalogs and ensuring all parts ordered align with estimates. The position also includes managing inventory, notifying the parts manager of stock issues, and locating parts from external sources when necessary. Maintaining a neat and organized parts area, adhering to company policies, and demonstrating a positive, team-oriented attitude are also crucial aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Team oriented, flexible, focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Driver's License (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status.
  • Search, read and understand the electronic parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
  • Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
  • Review all estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
  • Provide high level service to both internal and external customers.
  • Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Provide quick and efficient delivery of parts as needed.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Order, receive, and return parts as needed to fulfill needs of customers.
  • Complete and maintain factory training and continuous education related to the job.
  • Keep parts area neat, clean, and organized.
  • Adhere to all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards.
  • Must have positive attitude, display teamwork, and be pro-active.
