Parts Counter Sales Representative - Big Spring, TX
About The Position
The Parts Counter Sales Representative promotes and sells products and services to meet customer needs and supplies Service Technicians with required parts. The role also supports merchandise displays, shipment receipting, inventory placement, parts department organization, and follow-up on shortages and expedited issues. Additional duties include answering phone calls and on-call hours with co-workers, assisting with annual physical inventory across SPI parts departments, transporting parts and other items between SPI locations, and promoting a culture of safety, leadership, and teamwork. The position is on-site in Big Spring, Texas. The job posting indicates that extended hours and weekends may be required. Employees must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Requirements
- Basic data entry and keyboarding skills.
- Basic parts and machinery knowledge.
- Ability to communicate clearly and politely with customers by phone.
- Ability to use the John Deere Parts Catalog computer application.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.

- Forklift license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote and sell products and/or services to meet customer needs.
- Supply Service Technicians with parts as required.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays.
- Verify receipting-in of shipments and help place Machine Down and Stock Orders in their proper inventory locations.
- Help keep the parts department clean and orderly.
- Follow up on shortages and expedite issues by reporting them to the manager.
- Assist co-workers with answering phone calls and on-call hours.
- Assist with annual physical inventory for all parts departments in the SPI organization.
- Transport parts, small equipment, supplies, and paperwork between SPI locations.
- Facilitate and promote a culture of safety.
- Demonstrate good character, leadership, and teamwork.
