About The Position

Joe Morgan Honda is hiring a Full-time parts counterperson. This is a great opportunity for you to grow your career in the automotive business. Joe Morgan Honda has a busy parts department and we need your help to continue to grow and offer exceptional customer service. The Parts Counterperson acts as the principal contact between the parts department and the service department for the sale of parts and accessories; and sells parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of automotive parts and basic vehicle systems
Ability to accurately identify parts using a VIN and electronic parts catalogs
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working with computers and dealership parts software
Ability to work effectively with technicians, service advisors, customers, and vendors
Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

Previous automotive parts experience preferred
Dealership parts experience is a plus
Honda parts experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction
Assist all customers (internal and external) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Delivers and/or supplies parts for the service techs in a fast and courteous manner.
Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
Strives to meet department goals and objectives
Pull out and fill orders from stock.
Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Write purchase orders. Orders parts, and gets parts from outside suppliers as needed, with Parts or Service Manager's approval.
Exhibits a sufficient level of proficiency in the use of EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) and inventory systems according to dealership standards.
Determines availability of parts and submits emergency orders for out-of-stock parts.
