About The Position

Abel Womack is seeking a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Parts Correspondent & Equipment Shipping and Receiving Associate to support our Parts, Service, and Aftermarket teams. This hybrid role combines parts order processing and customer support with hands‑on shipping, receiving, and handling of industrial parts and heavy equipment, including forklifts and material‑handling equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values accuracy and safety, and enjoys balancing administrative work with physical warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Forklift/PIT experience required (certification or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, and basic prints
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred
  • Experience handling industrial parts and/or heavy equipment strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer and internal inquiries via phone and email
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently following established procedures
  • Identify required parts using manuals, online schematics, and parts resources
  • Monitor backorders and special orders, providing proactive status updates
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve order, invoicing, and shipping issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation for purchase orders, returns, shortages, damages, and mis‑ships
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts and equipment shipments
  • Match shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading
  • Prepare outbound shipments with proper labeling, packaging, and documentation
  • Record all inventory transactions accurately in inventory management systems
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials and regulated shipping requirements
  • Process vendor warranty returns in coordination with Warranty Administrators
  • Load and unload forklifts and material‑handling equipment onto trucks and trailers
  • Secure equipment safely using proper blocking, strapping, and load‑securement methods
  • Operate forklifts and powered industrial trucks to move and stage equipment
  • Verify delivery documentation prior to unloading inbound equipment
  • Operate a 100‑ton press when required
  • Organize and store parts and equipment to optimize space and accessibility
  • Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and yard environment
  • Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and equipment operation procedures
  • Identify and communicate safety, quality, and process improvement opportunities
