About The Position

Butler Machinery is seeking a passionate Parts and Service Sales Representative to build strong customer relationships. This role, located in Rapid City or Pierre, SD, involves assisting salesmen with customer presentations, marketing and selling the value of parts and service, and identifying new customers within the assigned territory. The position requires regular customer calls, relationship building, strong organizational skills, and periodic travel to customer accounts. Ideal candidates are dedicated to customer satisfaction, enjoy phone interactions, and have a passion for equipment.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Service and Parts experience minimally required.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Advanced computer skills essential (Word Documents, PowerPoint, Excel, Etc.)
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals both verbally and written.
  • Ability to think strategically, make decisions, develop relationships, handle conflict, negotiate, present ideas, use resources effectively, and display mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work extra hours on short notice.
  • Overnight travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ Years of Sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes customer relationships.
  • Assists salesmen with customer presentations
  • Communicates with the Aftermarket Sales Manager to relay parts and service opportunities as well as progress on tasks assigned, etc.
  • Markets and sells the value of CAT parts and service.
  • Find new markets, customers, and applications within the territory.
  • Performs equipment inspections to include certified used equipment, warranty inspections, certified truck service, and customer repair inspections.
  • Develop good knowledge of competitive products and suppliers.
  • Provides input on annual forecasts for territory potential.
  • Resolve customer issues.
  • Works with Customer Account Managers and Parts and Service Managers on goals and marketing ideas.
  • Keeps good customer records.
  • Works within and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
